The Num-Num Charity Walk – 22 January 2012
The Num-Num Charity Walk – 22 January 2012
Uniforms for Orphans
Mpumalanga has the 2nd highest HIV/AIDs infection in South Africa. There are approximately 350 orphans living in and around Badplaas and Machadodorp. Many of these children live in child headed households. The Num-Num Trail will be hosting a one day charity walk to raise funds to buy school uniforms for these children and help in other ways if possible. The walk will take place on Sunday 22 January 2012, starting and finishing at Wathaba Camp on the R541 between Machadodorp and Badplaas. There are two options for this fun day out in nature:
- People who want a full day out can do the Day 5, Die Kokoboom Pad (8km)
- For people with children under 10 years old there is Die Bosbok Roete (4km)
There are lots of waterfalls on both these trails and plenty of swimming opportunities. People can start the walk between 8am and 11am. Die Kokoboom Pad is rated as Green Flag (moderate to difficult) so please wear proper hiking boots and socks.
COST
Adults – R30
Children under 16 years old – R10
PLUS please bring along something nonperishable (e.g. tin of tomato, sugar beans, old clothes, blankets, children’s toys, meilie meal, pens etc)
There is a 20% discount for people who want to make a weekend of it. (So the cost for staying over is R120pppn instead of R150pppn)
